Apearrently, last night R. Kelly had a little listening party at his home, which Miss Info attended. He talked about his new album, new tour and some other stuff that didn’t interest me, because I don’t really like him. To read all the details of what took place last night visit Miss Info. What did catch my eye was the comment about Trey Songz “Diss“.

If you’re a true king, you don’t get into challenges…you get to a status in life where you don’t ever have to throw another punch. What is an elephant supposed to do when an ant or a fly lands on you? Those guys have some growing up to do…I would have answered [that diss] 20 years ago…but not now.

Here’s some back info in case you missed it. A few months ago Trey Songz did a remix to Jay Z’s Death Of Autotune. In the song Trey sort of called out R. Kelly about trying to be like everyone else instead to being the legend and leader he should be and use to be. Trey was just saying that as a fan, he was disappointed in R. Kelly and wanted him to step it up and be the artist he once was and set the bar instead of following the rest. Hear for yourself:

I don’t believe it was a diss at all. I think it was the truth. Everyone is still calling R. Kelly the King and I am still trying to find out what he is the KING of. In my opinion he hasn’t had a good song in like a decade. You Remind Me Of Something is the last thing that comes to mind.

I don’t know what it is, but something about R. Kelly just gets me heated, lol. The video above is R. Kelly’s song, Number One, featuring Keri Hilson. I don’t like it. It’s average. Anyone could have put out this song and I still wouldn’t like it. For someone who is suppose to be a legend and “The King,” it’s not nearly where it should be. Hopefully the rest of the album is better, but I’m not counting on it. He’s too old to be trying to be like a 20 year old R&B artist that just came out. Step ya game up Kelly.

Trey Songz released Anticipation today, which is basically a whole record… for free. I swear all this boy does is write, record, and give his fans free music… it’s amazing. I just downloaded it and am listening to it as I write this. I like it so far just like everything else he does. It’s nice to hear real R&B again. It was really starting to frustrate me. All these artists claiming to be R&B artists putting out pop album after pop album. And there is nothing wrong with pop, I’m a big pop fan, but if you claim to sing R&B and I buy your album I should hear some R&B somewhere on the album… am I wrong. It’s funny how you have Trey Songz and Ocean’s 7 just giving music away that is better then almost anything you can go buy in the stores right now. This should tell all you record labels something… your slipping, you’ve lost sight at what real music is. And you wonder why no one is rushing out to buy anything, they can instead head to iTunes and download the one or two singles they like instead of wasting money on a whole bunch of fluff; like I do since I try to still have hope that these artists and labels will get it together and also I just love to physically have a CD in my possession, iTunes doesn’t give you the same experience.
