R.Kelly – Number One Video & Trey Songz Diss

Apearrently, last night R. Kelly had a little listening party at his home, which Miss Info attended. He talked about his new album, new tour and some other stuff that didn’t interest me, because I don’t really like him. To read all the details of what took place last night visit Miss Info. What did catch my eye was the comment about Trey SongzDiss“.

If you’re a true king, you don’t get into challenges…you get to a status in life where you don’t ever have to throw another punch. What is an elephant supposed to do when an ant or a fly lands on you? Those guys have some growing up to do…I would have answered [that diss] 20 years ago…but not now.

Here’s some back info in case you missed it. A few months ago Trey Songz did a remix to Jay Z’s Death Of Autotune. In the song Trey sort of called out R. Kelly about trying to be like everyone else instead to being the legend and leader he should be and use to be. Trey was just saying that as a fan, he was disappointed in R. Kelly and wanted him to step it up and be the artist he once was and set the bar instead of following the rest. Hear for yourself:

I don’t believe it was a diss at all. I think it was the truth. Everyone is still calling R. Kelly the King and I am still trying to find out what he is the KING of. In my opinion he hasn’t had a good song in like a decade. You Remind Me Of Something is the last thing that comes to mind.

I don’t know what it is, but something about R. Kelly just gets me heated, lol. The video above is R. Kelly’s song, Number One, featuring Keri Hilson. I don’t like it. It’s average. Anyone could have put out this song and I still wouldn’t like it. For someone who is suppose to be a legend and “The King,” it’s not nearly where it should be. Hopefully the rest of the album is better, but I’m not counting on it. He’s too old to be trying to be like a 20 year old R&B artist that just came out. Step ya game up Kelly.

Ocean’s 7 J’ADORE Magazine Cover

OCEAN7COVER

Ocean’s 7 will appear on the cover of J’Adore Magazine on September 7. The cover looks great. I just wish the other two members, Nelly and Usher (who are always MIA and probably for good reasons), could have been on it.

Anyway, make sure you pick up your copy when it comes out and if you haven’t already go download the Ocean’s 7 mixtape here, because it’s better then any album you could buy right now, FACT.

Drake So Far Gone Re-Release

September 15, Drake is re-releasing his So Far Gone mixtape, which was previously released online for free, in stores. I am very interested in seeing how this goes. I am all about supporting artists and not downloading music illegally, but it’s a recession, folks are broke. When an artist gives me a song or album for free, I’m not about to go buy it later. And if I buy it and find out I could have gotten it legally for free, I wouldn’t be the happiest about it.

It really isn’t a crazy idea, to see if they can make some money from it, it is a great album. I would have paid for it and not regretted it one bit, like I often do lately when I buy a CD. The fact that record sells are already down period, doesn’t really help, but I’m sure he knows that, and isn’t expecting too much. Wouldn’t it be a trip though if he ended up selling hella CD’s with this album.

Anyway, he is still set to release his official debut album Thank Me Later, sometime at the end of the year, but it better be as good or if not better then So Far Gone.

Last night Drake posted this on his twitter:

@drakkardnoir: In the studio…working on Thank Me Later…magic…surgery September 8th! Then we’re back in business

Brooke’s Beyonce Diss Or Just Honest Opinion

Alright I think you all are throwing this Brooke Hogan interview way out of proportion. For those that haven’t seen the video above, Brooke makes some comments about Beyonce and Cassie in an interview she did last week. I heard people talking about it and making a fuss over it all weekend, but wasn’t sure what they were referring to. The way some of y’all were talking about Brooke you would have thought she called Beyonce the “N” word. Well anyway, I finally saw the video, and well… some of you were just doing the MOST for no reason. It really wasn’t that bad and I actually think most of what she said was true and agree with it.

The Cassie remark:

Don’t show it if it’s not right. It’s all like stretched out.

….referring to the naked pictures of Cassie with her legs spread wide open… now that was just funny and you know you laughed or wanted to laugh. The comment about Beyonce:

I’ll agree with Keri Hilson. She needs to go and sit down and make some babies and chill. Ya know. She’s talented…don’t get me wrong. She’s talented but just give it a break for a little bit.

I completely agree with that statement. Beyonce is one of the biggest performers and has been for awhile. Some may say thats even more reason to keep going and just ride it out. I think that if she doesn’t sit down and take a break people are going to get tired of her. Taking a few years off to just be married or have a baby, if she wants to, wont hurt her. Take a break and let the fans wait in anticipation for a few years for the next album and tour. And let some of the new girls out have a little bit of a chance.

I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest Beyonce fan. I do like and I own all her albums though. She is amazing at what she does, but personally she’s not my favorite. I do love that Brooke was honest. I don’t like when artists try to be all diplomatic and fake. But Brooke probably should be more restrained about what she says. She needs to be trying to gain fans, not loss them, and Beyonce fans are kinda crazy. Yall are like MJ fans, you will cut a bitch in a minute if they talk smack about your Sasha.
